St Mark’s Hospital appoints Jennie Burch – Head of Gastrointestinal Nursing Education

St Mark’s Hospital is delighted to announce the appointment of Jennie Burch as the Head of Gastrointestinal Nursing Education.  The Gastrointestinal Nursing at St Mark’s Hospital is evolving, it currently runs several stoma and colorectal courses in conjunction with Dansac (a stoma products manufacturer) and BCU (Birmingham City University) at diploma, degree and masters level and to improve nurse education in St Marks Hospital Jennie now facilitates the monthly ward education for the nursing staff.  As part of the evolution there are a number of nursing study days held at St Marks Hospital throughout the year open to all nurses interested in Gastrointestinal Nursing. A cohort of  Burdett Scholars is recruited annually every autumn and Jennie supervises them through the scholarship .  Jennie facilitates the educational needs of national and international visitors to St Marks Hospital.  She is also involved in research at St Mark’s  and writes publications too.
