Day 1
Practical Skills Day
In Person. Venue: Griffin Institute
You will learn a range of practical skills required for IBD surgery on models, such as:
- Robotic IBD
- Kono-S
- Pouch creation
- Stricturoplasty
- VAAFT
- LIFT
- House Advancement flap (fissure)
- Rectal Advancement flap (fistula)
Day 2
Lectures and MDTs Day
In Person or Online. Venue: CMH
A day of lectures and MDT discussions of real patients covering:
- St Mark’s IBD MDT
- Lectures and MDTs day
- CD
- UC
- ASUC
- Pouch surgery
- Pouch dysfunction
- pCD
Day 3
Theatre Observership Day
In person. Venue: CMH
To end this course, we would have 3 IBD operating lists running simultaneously where you could observer in theatres:
- Robotic IBD
- Pouch surgery
- Pouch dysfunction surgery
- Complex abdominal IBD
- Complex perianal fistula surgery
- Rectovaginal fistula surgery
It is going to be a modular course where you can enjoy the 3 days as a package, or you could choose to come for the practical skills day or lectures day independently.
Day One – On Tuesday, you will have the opportunity to learn and practice skills needed for IBD surgery in person at the Griffin Institute
Day Two – It is Lecture and MDT day where there will be different IBD areas covered in the lectures and MDT discussions with real patient cases.
Day Three – To finalise this course, you can observe the IBD operations in theatre.
