Dr Nik Kamperidis 

MRCP (UK), MSc, MD (Res) | Consultant Gastroenterologist | Chair of Gastroenterology

Dr Nik Kamperidis is a luminal gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He is the Chair of Gastroenterology at St Mark’s. 

He qualified from the Aristotle University in Greece in 2003. He undertook specialist training in London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex and an advanced endoscopy fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital.

He has completed postgraduate studies and has been awarded an MSc degree and an MD (Res) from Barts and The London School of Medicine. His research has been on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and his thesis on “Nutrient effects in Inflammatory Bowel Disease” focused on the effect of enteral diets in Crohn’s disease. He had the opportunity to present his research in national and international conferences, win awards and publish articles in peer reviewed journals. His current research focuses on treatment optimisation of novel therapies and improvement in quality of care for patients with IBD.

As a consultant his clinical work involves most aspects of luminal gastroenterology with key interest areas the investigation and management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endoscopy and oesophageal physiology.
