Dr Ailsa Hart, consultant Gastroenterologist, participated in the International Organisation of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IOIBD) meeting in Tel Aviv, Israel. This has particular significance for St Mark’s Hospital, as Dr Hart is the 4th generation of consultants from St Mark’s who have been members of this prestigious organisation. The Organisation includes the top 50 clinicians working in the field of inflammatory bowel disease world-wide and membership reflects the contribution made by an individual in education and research into IBD. Professor Lennard-Jones, Professor John Nicholls and Professor Michael Kamm were members in the past from St Mark’s Hospital.
Dr Hart is the visiting lecturer to the Asian Institute of gastroenterology meeting in Hyderabad, India 22nd to 24th She will deliver lectures on “Pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease”, “Management of perianal Crohn’s disease” and “ECCO model of research and education”.
