Professor John Northover retired from St Mark’s in May 2012. The Northover collection records some of his final contributions as a staff member to the life of the hospital.

Part 3: Massive Sarcoma (no audio)

At St Mark’s there is a tradition that colleagues from all disciplines around the hospital attend a surgeon’s final operating list. In this case the patient had carried a large, low grade sarcoma on his buttock for eight years before seeking its removal. John Northover was joined by David Ross, the plastic surgeon, and Ian Jenkins, who took over leadership of the complex cancer clinic following Professor Northover’s departure.
