Bowel Management for Continence Advisors

A one-day course for continence advisors to gain knowledge and confidence in managing faecal incontinence.

The day will focus on:

Anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor
Written assessment
Physical assessment
Dietary modification
Medication e.g. antidiarhhoeals
Continence product advice
Psychological support

Clinical cases can be brought for discussion.

Learning Objectives:

This study day is for continence advisors to gain knowledge and confidence in managing faecal incontinence conservatively as set out at level 1 in the Royal College of Surgeons guidance for faecal incontinence.
